First Braille Quran in Malaysia... 30 years ago
I received a newspaper clipping from the 1980's from brother Yuzaidi Yusoff about a blind person ,Haji Mohammed Noor from Kota Bharu, who was tasked by the Malaysian Religious Affairs Department to transcribe the Holy Quran into braille for the first time in Malaysia . One of the readers who assisted him at the Muslim Women's Board where he carried out this task was Yuzaidi's mother Hajjah Jawahir Abdul Aziz ,a Quran teacher.
The other photo was taken when she visited him 20 years later at Institut Tahfiz Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah in Brunei where he was working .
Alhamdulillah we have come a long way and we can now produce the braille Quran electronically faster and in large numbers.
