A vest that uses vibration and voice commands to allow the blind and seriously visually impaired to walk unaided has been developed by Palestinian students from the Polytechnic University in Hebron.

Their Smart Assist System for Blind People is designed to be used in place of the traditional white cane used by the sightless.

Alhamdulillah, Alfitrah Foundation has given 5 braille Qurans to Nottingham Islam to be placed at their dakwah centre. Their dakwah centre has an amazing collection of Qurans with translations in many languages, including Polish, Greek and Japanese,.

Alfitrah Foundation got a request for 100 braille Qurans from a school for blind children in Aleppo. Alhamdulillah the first 13 Qurans arrived today in Manchester where brother Zahir Uddin is coordinating delivery to Syria by container with other aid donated .
May Allah reward the donors for their generosity and compassion.

For the last 3 years Viva Palestina Malaysia has organised sponsorship for blind children to memorise the Quran during the summer holidays. The camp has grown in popularity among the children, and the number of children sponsored has risen threefold alhamdulillah.

Our member of IBQS in Malaysia , Alfitrah Foundation , will be working with brother Zahir of Children in Deen to provide 50 braille Qurans for the blind children of Aleppo, Syria , inshaa Allah.

Alhamdulillah - AlFitrah Foundation last week delivered a braille Quran, braille Surah Yasin with English translation and 2 braille Surah Yasin and Tahlil (in Malay) to Ustazah Nor Fadhilah, assistant director in charge of services, Masjid Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur with the help of masjid Visitors Centre volunteers Puan Azizah and Puan Roslina.

Inshaa Allah they will be of benefit to the blind jemaah of all nationalities .

Alhamdulillah this morning Al Fitrah Foundation handed over 3 Braillers and 8 Surah Yasin and Tahlil to Sekolah Rendah Kg Sireh Kota Bharu for the use of the blind students. The school is an integrated school with both sighted and blind students. They were affected by the recent floods and are in need of more braillers , and also computers for the blind students. Alhamdulillah Alfitrah Foundation has completed the English braille versions of Surah Yasin and the Beautiful Names of Allah and these are available now for distribution to the blind.

In Malay braille we also have Himpunan Doa and Wirid Sembahyang. Solat Jenazah, Solat Taubat and Solat Hajat. We are working on a guide to the Haj.
